The Supreme Court of Kabardino-Balkaria sentenced a local resident to six years in prison for attempting to become subordinate to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as for calls for illegal actions, the press service reported.
According to the court, the convict intended to become a full-fledged serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in order to participate in hostilities against Russia, but law enforcement officers stopped the act.
“The defendant was unable to actually fully realize his criminal intent aimed at high treason in the form of switching to the side of the enemy, since his actions were suppressed by law enforcement officers,” the report says.
It is noted that the offender admitted his guilt and will spend the next six years in a maximum security colony.
