A citizen of Tajikistan was detained for setting fire to a police department in the Krasnodar region

Citizen of Tajikistan Sergei Yu. was detained for setting fire to a department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the city of Apsheronsk, Krasnodar Territory. He tried to kill the head of the migration department. This was reported on Thursday, November 30, by the Baza Telegram channel.

It is clarified that on the morning of November 21, a fire occurred at the police department in the specified locality. As it turned out, a 68-year-old man set fire to archival files by dousing the documents with solvent.

The fire was quickly extinguished. The senior duty officer required medical assistance due to poisoning from combustion products.

A criminal case was opened against the detainee for “attack on the life of a law enforcement officer” (Article 317 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). He faces up to 20 years in prison.

According to the source, the suspect contacted the specified Russian police department two years ago, in 2021. His legal status was regulated as a “stateless person”.

Earlier, the Public News Service reported that a case was transferred to the Samara Regional Court on charges of a 53-year-old man in the murder with extreme cruelty of two people and arson ritual salon.
